Many of us have asked that question at some time or another and we are often left wondering, how do I believe in myself when nobody else does? It’s a good question and one we often find ourselves asking when circumstances seem to get so out of control. Unfortunately, circumstances often dictate the answer. That said, there is one thing that you should be wary of if you want to believe in yourself, and that’s the possibility of believing in somebody else.
When you get caught up in believing someone else’s ideal, you risk losing sight of your own ideals. You may start to believe that you’ve ‘made it’ or that you’ll be ‘fine’ whatever happens – and quite possibly sooner rather than later.
This is where most people end up when they’re trying to get on in life. They’ll tell themselves that if just a little more effort is applied, they’ll be fine. And so they’ll put even more energy into things, work even harder, and achieve less than they set out to achieve.
So, how to believe in yourself when nobody else does? Well, the first step is to ditch the belief that your life must match the ideal you’ve been told you are following. If you believe this way, you’ll almost certainly remain unhappy. To help with this, set out a goal and write down everything you could need to do to reach it.
Now, once you’ve written down exactly what it is that you are aiming for, ask yourself whether you think it’s possible to achieve it. In other words, are you willing to go all-or-nothing in your efforts to make your life a success?
If you’re not, then this is a bad idea, as there’s no such thing as an achievable goal. If you’re willing to commit wholeheartedly to this idea, though, how to believe in yourself when nobody else does is a possibility – one that you just have to keep in mind.
The next step is to decide how much you’re willing to go. This again is an all-or-nothing question, but it will help you focus on what you’re going to do when you reach your goal. Remember, your whole attitude about life depends upon how strongly you believe you can achieve your goals, and so this will dictate how you approach your life.
Once you know how much you’re willing to give, you’ll need to give something in return.
How to believe in yourself when nobody else does this is to give yourself a reason to believe. Your reasons for believing could be personal, cultural, psychological, financial, or some combination of these.
One important thing to remember here is that being a positive belief is itself a belief, which means that if it doesn’t feel right, you’d better find another reason for it. This may sound simple, but it’s not, because beliefs are rarely self-justifying. You have to choose which ones you believe in – and if you’re not a hundred percent sure, try to go with the majority, and trust in the process.
There is no “right” way to believe in yourself, just as there’s no “wrong” way. If you know that you can succeed, and you feel good about the ability to succeed, that’s the way you should think of your beliefs.
And if that’s the case, there’s really no reason for doing anything else. Of course, if you’re not positive about yourself, then you might want to read some books about motivation and find out how to use your natural impulses to attract success. But the more simple approach is that which we call “the will of the fated.”
To summarize, The more positive you are about your abilities and the more eager you are to use your natural talents and impulses to attract results, the more your true potential will shine through.
And the next time you’re stuck in a hole, instead of blaming it on somebody else, consider that someone may have told you that you were a loser, but that you could have had success – if only you’d believed them! Remember: It’s never too late to start using your own natural talents and passions to manifest your own success!
Once you learn how to believe in yourself when nobody else does, you’ll realize that all it took was that one push of the faith, and before you know it, you’ll be an authority on your own accord.
